Recapping Savannah, the Jonas Brothers & more- Episode 66

This week on Create & Consume, I’m sharing a full summer catch up — from travels and concerts to social media reflections and routines.

It’s been a busy season filled with so many different moments, and I wanted to take an episode to recap it all with you.

I’ll walk through Taylor’s bachelorette in Savannah (and share some of my best planning tips if you have one coming up), talk about the Jonas Brothers concert and Mets game I went to, and reflect on how I’ve been feeling about content creation and social media lately.

I also couldn’t resist chatting about the shows of the summer and how I’m getting myself back into a routine as we head into fall.

Taylor’s bachelorette in Savannah

I recently got back from a super fun girl’s weekend in Savannah for Taylor’s bachelorette party. Here’s a look at our itinerary:

  • Thursday: arrival day with cocktail boys greeting us

  • Friday: beach day in Tybee Island, then “elevated denim” night out with a country bar and dueling pianos

  • Saturday: dance class, brunch, and a pedal bike ride through town

  • Sunday: diner breakfast before heading home

It was the perfect mix of relaxation, fun, and celebration.

Bachelorette tips

Since I’ve been on a few bachelorettes now, I wanted to share some of my top tips for making these weekends run smoothly:

  • Download Splitwise and Venmo to keep group expenses easy

  • Place a Walmart+ order to the house with the basics: coffee, muffins, mixers, bottled water, chips, cups, napkins

  • Use Canva to create cute personalized moments

  • Share the itinerary and costs ahead of time so everyone knows what to expect

Jonas Brothers concert

Another highlight this summer was seeing the Jonas Brothers live in concert! The night was full of surprises:

  • All American Rejects opened the show

  • Guest performances included Jesse McCartney, Switchfoot, and Demi Lovato

  • I loved their tour outfits and felt so much hometown pride throughout the set

Mets game

I also got to experience a Mets game this summer (I try to with my dad every year) and had such a great time.

We sat in the Hyundai Club, which was definitely a fun way to take in the game and was helpful with a rain delay.

Social media burnout

On a more personal note, I’ve been feeling some social media burnout lately.

I have a big project I’m working on (to be revealed soon!) that’s been taking up a lot of my time and energy. Because of that:

  • I haven’t been shooting much new short-form content lately

  • I’m thinking about doing a “repost week” to reshare some of my most successful videos

  • I’m prioritizing YouTube and the podcast through the end of summer

  • I’ll also be attending a YouTube event in early September which I’m really excited about, I will either vlog that or do some kind of recap with takeaways

Shows of the summer

This summer had no shortage of TV drama.

I got into The Summer I Turned Pretty (and am still replaying the end of episode 7 in my head), binged Love Island USA, and of course kept an eye on Bachelor in Paradise (though honestly, this season hasn’t been quite as popular as past years).

Getting back into a routine

As summer winds down, I’ve been trying to get back into a routine. A few things I’ve been focusing on:

  • Getting enough sleep

  • Decluttering and organizing my space

  • Following my August workout plan

  • Supporting Andrew as he trains for the Chicago Marathon

  • Getting ready to embrace fall vibes (more on that next week — but the weather is already hinting at autumn and I’m loving it!)

Summary

Summer has been full of travel, concerts, and TV obsessions, but also reminders to slow down and reset.

As I wrap up this season, I’m focusing on finding balance—prioritizing rest, staying consistent with content that matters most, and easing back into routines that make me feel grounded.

With fall right around the corner, it feels like the perfect time to recharge and carry these lessons forward.
